{"id":31291,"date":"2018-10-09T11:34:37","date_gmt":"2018-10-09T11:34:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.acnmalta.org\/?p=31291"},"modified":"2018-10-22T11:35:56","modified_gmt":"2018-10-22T11:35:56","slug":"acn-malta-organizes-the-premier-screening-of-the-film-augustine-son-of-her-tears","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/acnmalta.org\/_oldsite\/2018\/10\/09\/acn-malta-organizes-the-premier-screening-of-the-film-augustine-son-of-her-tears\/","title":{"rendered":"ACN (MALTA) ORGANIZES THE PREMIER SCREENING OF THE FILM, \u201cAUGUSTINE, SON OF HER TEARS\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<style type=\"text\/css\"><\/style><h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>ACN (MALTA) ORGANIZES THE PREMIER SCREENING OF THE FILM, \u201cAUGUSTINE, SON OF HER TEARS\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">As a Pastoral Charity dedicated to the three-fold mission of supporting the Church\u00a0through prayer, re-evangelization and active charity,\u00a0Aid to the Church in Need (Malta) has organised the premiere screening of the film, \u201cAugustine, Son of Her Tears\u201d in collaboration with the Augustinian Institute.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">It was an evening of great inspiration and spiritual enrichment for benefactors, collaborators of ACN and other invited guests who gathered at the Embassy Theatre Valletta on October 3 and the Don Bosco Oratory Theatre Gozo on October 4, for the premiere screening of the film.\u00a0Mgr. Charles Cordina, Episcopal Vicar for Diaconia, Rev. Prof Hector Scerri, Ecclesiastical Assistant of ACN (Malta), and Board Directors were also present for this event.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The film screening which had in attendance the Film Maker, Henri Aoun accompanied by some of the actors was held under the distinguished patronage of the Auxiliary Bishop, His Lordship Mgr Joseph Galea Curmi who described the film as a \u201cbeautiful gift\u201d for which we should be thankful.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In his speech, the Bishop\u00a0thanked ACN and\u00a0praised the prayerful determination of St. Monica, praying that Malta and indeed all the world would be blessed with the gift of such mothers who will shape the lives and future of their children by their prayers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In his opening speech, the National Director, Aid to the Church in Need (Malta), Mr Stephen Axisa expressed gratitude to the Bishop, the Augustinian Institute, the Director of Don Bosco Oratory, Fr. Effie Masini, the filmmaker, actors and all those who accepted the invitation to be present at the event.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">According to him, something unique and especially important about the film is the fact that it was interpreted by Muslim actors.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201cThis innovative initiative strikes us more powerfully when we consider the daily reality of our persecuted brothers and sisters in Syria, Iraq, Nigeria, Egypt and other parts of the world where religious intolerance is heightened. It is our prayer that this example of inter-religious unity will inspire greater respect, peace and unity among people of different cultures and religions\u201d, he said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Also speaking, Rev.
